What is it and what is it used for?
Eye lubricant.
Lacrilube is used to lubricate and protect the eyes in the presence of dry eye conditions.
What you need to know before taking the medicine
Hypersensitivity to lanolin alcohols or to any of the excipients.
Warnings and precautions
The product is for external use only; use, especially prolonged use, of topical products may cause sensitization. In this case, discontinue use and consult your doctor.
It is advisable to consult your doctor even if these disorders have occurred in the past.
What to do during pregnancy and breastfeeding
Lacrilube contains ingredients that have been used for years in other medications without any concerning effects during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Therefore, no special precautions are necessary for the use of Lacrilube in these conditions.
PRECAUTIONS FOR USE
Since Lacrilube is a sterile preparation, avoid allowing the tip of the tube to come into contact with any surface.
Possible side effects
Like all medicines, Lacrilube can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
After applying Lacrilube, the following side effects may occur, but the frequency is not known:
• Eye irritation;
• Eye redness;
• Eye pain;
• Blurred vision;
• Eye allergy;
• Swelling and itching of the eye and/or eyelid;
• Ocular excretion;
• Sensation of foreign body in the eye;
• Excessive tearing.
Following the instructions in the package leaflet reduces the risk of side effects.
These side effects are generally transient. However, if they occur, it is advisable to consult your doctor or pharmacist.
