Descriptive sheet Ectoal
Ectoine 2% Ophthalmic Solution
Description
Medical device containing 2% Ectoin, a natural cytoprotective molecule, which has anti-inflammatory properties and stabilizes cell membranes.
Ectoal is an isotonic solution and can be used to treat and prevent the symptoms of allergic conjunctivitis. Itching, redness, or excessive tearing can be effectively relieved. Within 30 seconds, symptoms such as itching, tearing, and eye irritation will rapidly reduce.
Ectoal protects against the harmful effects of allergens and supports the repair processes of irritated and sensitized conjunctiva.
Ectoal can be used by contact lens wearers, children, and those with sensitive eyes. Ectoal is preservative-free.
How to use
Always use Ectoal according to these instructions. Consult your doctor or pharmacist before use. Unless otherwise prescribed by your doctor, apply 1-2 drops in each eye, several times a day. If necessary, Ectoal can be used multiple times within the same hour.
1. Before using Ectoal for the first time, remove the protective seal from the bottle.
2. It is recommended to wash your hands before using Ectoal.
3. Remove the protective cap from the bottle, avoiding touching the tip underneath.
4. Tilt your head back slightly.
5. Hold the bottle upside down with one hand, between your thumb and forefinger. Keep the bottle as vertical as possible.
6. Carefully open your eye using the thumb and forefinger of your other hand, or gently pull your lower eyelid down to create a slit; look up.
7. Bring the tip of the bottle close to the lower eyelid, without letting it touch the eye.
8. Squeeze the bottle lightly and drop one drop into the gap between the eye and the eyelid.
9. Close your eye slowly to distribute the solution over the entire ocular surface as well as possible.
10. Repeat the process for the other eye.
11. After each use of Ectoal, carefully close the bottle with the protective cap.
If recommended by your doctor, Ectoal can be used after eye surgery/eye trauma.
