Warnings and precautions
Treatment of chronic or recurrent constipation always requires medical attention for diagnosis, medication prescription, and monitoring throughout treatment. Consult your doctor when the need for a laxative arises from a sudden change in previous bowel habits (characteristic frequency of bowel movements) that lasts more than two weeks, when constipation is persistent, or when laxative use fails to work.
Laxative abuse (frequent or prolonged use, or excessive doses) can cause persistent diarrhea, resulting in the loss of water, minerals (especially potassium), and other essential nutrients. In more severe cases, dehydration or hypokalemia (low blood potassium) can develop, which can lead to cardiac or neuromuscular dysfunction, especially when concomitantly treated with cardiac glycosides, diuretics, or corticosteroids. Laxative abuse, especially contact laxatives (stimulant laxatives), can cause dependence (and thus the possible need to gradually increase the dosage), chronic constipation, and loss of normal intestinal function (intestinal atony). First of all, it should be noted that, in most cases, a balanced diet rich in water and fiber (bran, vegetables, and fruit) can provide lasting relief from constipation.
Many people think they're constipated if they can't have a bowel movement every day. This is a misconception, as this is completely normal for many people. However, constipation occurs when bowel movements are less frequent than usual and are associated with hard stools. If constipation occurs repeatedly or if you've noticed any recent changes in their characteristics, you should consult your doctor.
Possible side effects
Like all medicines, TISANA KELEMATA can cause side effects. Following the instructions in the package leaflet reduces the risk of side effects. Occasionally: isolated cramping pain or abdominal cramps, more common in cases of severe constipation. With use of the product, urine sometimes becomes slightly yellow-brown or red. This coloration is simply due to the presence of senna components in the urine and is not clinically significant. Continued use of laxatives can cause addiction or various types of harm.
These side effects are generally temporary. However, if they occur, it is advisable to consult your doctor or pharmacist. It is important to inform your doctor or pharmacist if you experience any side effects not listed in the package leaflet.
