Description
Acmed™ New 20% azelaic acid effective in patients suffering from any type of acne, both in the acute phase and in maintenance therapy, with a better tolerability profile than benzoyl peroxide.
Azelaic acid is currently among the most widely used substances for the treatment of acne vulgaris, especially mild to moderate forms, but also rosacea. Its multiple skin effects, including its anti-acne and anti-medogenic (anti-blackhead and acne-like pimple) effects, well documented by numerous clinical studies, are due to:
- antibacterial properties (especially against Propionibacterium acnes);
- inhibitory activity against keratinocyte proliferation;
- anti-inflammatory and antioxidant activity (against free radicals);
- activity of reducing the content of free fatty acids in the lipids of the skin surface (less oily skin);
- depigmenting action, useful for effectively combating skin blemishes caused by acne.
Unlike other topical treatments used for acne, azelaic acid is not photosensitizing and can therefore also be used during the summer months.
The first results can be observed after just two months of treatment, but it is usually essential to continue applying the cream to achieve complete remission of the signs and symptoms of acne.
Contains no fragrances.

How to use
Wash the area to be treated (such as the face, chest, or back). Apply the product with a light massage. Do not rinse the treated area. Wash your hands after application. It is recommended to apply the product 1-2 times a day for up to 12 weeks.

Warnings
Avoid contact with eyes. In case of contact with eyes, rinse with plenty of fresh water. For external use only. Keep out of reach of children. For any questions or concerns, consult your doctor or pharmacist.

Conservation
Store in a cool, dry place, below 28°C, away from heat sources.
Shelf life in intact packaging: 48 months.
