What is it and what is it for?
WATER FOR INJECTABLE PREPARATIONS SALF contains sterile water not contaminated by microorganisms (pyrogenic), which is used to dissolve, dilute and transport other medicinal products to be administered by injection.
WATER FOR INJECTABLE PREPARATIONS SALF is indicated for the preparation of medicinal solutions to be injected.


What you need to know before taking the medicine
Do not use WATER FOR INJECTION SALF
- in all those conditions for which you must not use the medicine(s) dissolved, diluted or conveyed in WATER FOR INJECTION SALF

Warnings and precautions
Talk to your doctor, pharmacist or nurse before using WATER FOR INJECTIONS SALF
Use this medicine immediately after opening the container, after making sure that the solution is clear, colourless and free from visible particles, and in one go, discarding any unused portion.
If you continuously use WATER FOR INJECTIONS SALF you may experience excessive accumulation of water (water overload), congestion (congestive state), reduction of salt levels in the blood and, if you do not add potassium to the solution, reduction of potassium levels in the blood (hypokalaemia) (See paragraph: "4. Possible side effects").


Possible side effects
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
The following side effects may occur:
- excessive accumulation of water in the body (water overload);
- congestion (congestive state);
- reduction in body levels of salts (electrolytes).
