Warnings and precautions
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using Anauran.
Use of topical products such as Anauran, especially if prolonged, may cause sensitization. If this occurs, discontinue use and consult your doctor to initiate appropriate therapy.
In the presence of deep or resistant infections, it is advisable to integrate the local dressing with appropriate general antibiotic treatments.
As with other antibiotic medicines, prolonged treatment can lead to further infections (called “superinfections”) from germs that are resistant to the same antibiotic therapies.
Neomycin, one of the active ingredients in this medicine, can cause permanent hearing loss. The risk of ear damage is greater with prolonged use, so it is recommended that treatment be limited to 10 consecutive days.
If you have had allergic reactions or resistance to other antibiotics similar to neomycin (aminoglycosides), these may also occur with the use of Anauran.
