Bionect Start

Medical device CE 0373.
A fluid ointment for topical application containing hyaluronic acid sodium salt from bacterial fermentation as the main component and bacterial collagenase obtained from Vibrio alginolyticus as the medicinal substance incorporated. As part of the wound bed preparation phase, Bionect Start promotes the healing process and protects newly formed tissue thanks to the hydrating action of hyaluronic acid. Indeed, wound healing occurs more rapidly in a moist environment. Bacterial collagenase promotes wound bed preparation.
Indicated for the local treatment of chronic ulcers with necrotic or fibrinous tissue (i.e., bedsores, vascular leg ulcers, diabetic ulcers), promoting debridement. It is particularly indicated for providing an optimal moist environment and wound bed preparation that facilitates the natural healing process.

Components
Main component: hyaluronic acid sodium salt 0.2%. Other components: collagenase (not less than 2.0 nkat/g of ointment ¹ ), light liquid paraffin, white petrolatum.

How to use
Wounds must be cleansed and disinfected before application. To ensure successful treatment, the wound area must be sufficiently moist. Dry wounds should be moistened with saline (0.9% NaCl) or a solution well tolerated by the tissue, such as glucose solution. Hardened escae should be softened with a moist dressing. Apply a 2 mm layer of BIONECT® START to the wound once daily or as directed by a healthcare professional. Cover the treated area with a sterile bandage to ensure adequate contact.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding
Bionect Start can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding as directed by your doctor.

Contraindications
Bionect Start should not be used in patients with known individual hypersensitivity to any of the product's components.

Warnings and precautions
It is recommended not to use the product beyond 30 days. If you experience obvious signs of infection, consult your doctor for possible antibiotic treatment. Tetracyclines should not be used topically with Bionect Start. Do not use the product with soaps/detergents, disinfectants containing quaternary ammonium salts, silver, or other heavy metals, which may reduce its effectiveness. If necessary, ask your pharmacist or doctor which products to use. Do not use on exposed cartilage or tendon tissue. Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes. In case of accidental ingestion or inhalation, consult a doctor immediately. Avoid direct contact of the container with the wound. Reclose the container after each application. Keep the product out of reach of children.

Side effects
Local side effects such as pain, itching, burning, and erythema may occur. Systemic side effects cannot be ruled out in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of the product's components.

Conservation
Store below 30°C.
Do not use if the package is damaged. The product can be used for up to 36 months after first opening the tube. Do not use the product after the expiration date printed on the package. The expiration date refers to the product when stored properly. After use, dispose of according to applicable national regulations.
