What is it and what is it for?
Brunistill contains the active ingredient ketotifen, an antiallergic substance. Brunistill is used to treat the ocular symptoms of seasonal allergic conjunctivitis.
What you need to know before taking the medicine
Do not use Brunistill
Do not use Brunistill if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to the active substance (ketotifen) or to any of the other ingredients of Brunistill.
Possible side effects
Like all medicines, Brunistill can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
The following side effects have been reported:
Common (occurring in less than 1 in 10 patients)
- Eye irritation or pain
- Inflammation of the eye
- punctate epithelial erosion
Uncommon (occurs in less than 1 in 100 patients)
- Blurred vision
- Dry eyes
- Eyelid disorders
- Conjunctivitis
- Increased sensitivity of the eyes to light
- Visible bleeding in the white part of the eye
- Heachache
- Drowsiness
- Rash (which may also be itchy)
- Eczema (itching, redness, inflammatory rash)
- hives
- Dry mouth
- Allergic reaction

Hypersensitivity, including local allergic reactions (mainly contact dermatitis, swollen eyes, itching of the eyelid and oedema), systemic allergic reactions, including facial swelling/oedema (in some cases associated with contact dermatitis) and worsening of existing allergic conditions, such as asthma and eczema.
Following the instructions in the package leaflet reduces the risk of side effects.
