What is it and what is it for?
CANFORA MARCO VITI contains the active ingredient camphor which belongs to a group of medicines used for muscle and joint pain.
CAMPHORA MARCO VITI relieves the symptoms of inflammation and pain and is indicated for the treatment of pain due to mild neuralgia, joint and muscle pain, gout, superficial skin irritations and itchy skin.
Contact your doctor if you notice no improvement or if you notice worsening of symptoms after 3 days of using the medicine.
What you need to know before taking the medicine
Do not use CAMPHORA MARCO VITI
- if you are allergic to camphor or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6);
- if you have skin wounds and abrasions;
- if the person who is to use the medicine is a child under 30 months of age or has suffered from epilepsy or febrile convulsions.
CANFORA MARCO VITI oily cutaneous solution contains peanut oil. If you are allergic to peanuts or soy, do not use this medicine.
Warnings and precautions
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using CANFORA MARCO VITI.
Do not use concentrated camphor solutions containing more than 11% camphor, as they can be irritating and dangerous.
Do not swallow this medicine because serious effects, including death, may occur.
Avoid using this medicine for periods longer than 3 days and at doses higher than recommended.
Avoid using medicines and cosmetics containing substances called terpene derivatives because, together with CANFORA MARCO VITI, they can cause serious problems.
Avoid placing this medicine near heat sources such as flames because it is flammable.
Children
Do not apply CANFORA MARCO VITI to your child's nostrils because it may cause serious damage (shock). CANFORA MARCO VITI, if used in excessive doses, may cause nervous system problems, such as convulsions, in infants and children (see section "Do not use CANFORA MARCO VITI").
Possible side effects
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
The following side effects may occur:
Frequency not known (frequency cannot be estimated from the available data)
- delirium, central nervous system depression, coma, convulsions, headache, dizziness, collapse (shock);
- asthma, breathing problems (respiratory failure);
- burning (pyrosis) and stomach pain, vomiting, nausea;
- failure to secrete urine (anuria);
- skin irritations (hives, erythema).
CAMPHOR MARCO VITI if used in excessive doses can cause convulsions in newborns and children.
