Descriptive sheet LoFric Origo
Description
Disposable urinary catheter for intermittent catheterization.
Disposable self-lubricating hydrophilic urinary catheter with sterile saline solution (water, sodium chloride) integrated into the package.
The catheter is hydrated in a sterile environment.
The catheter surface is made with Urotonic Surface Technology: the combination of polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) and saline solution (water and sodium chloride) makes the LoFric Origo catheter coating isotonic with urine after activation.
The packaging of each individual product allows for a firm grip without direct contact with the body of the catheter:
- opening from the adhesive label,
- presence of a specific sterile handle, called “GRIP”, which can slide along the body of the catheter, facilitating both the insertion and subsequent extraction of the catheter (sterile handle for the “NO-TOUCH” method),
- the same packaging can be used for hygienic and completely discreet disposal of the catheter after use.
Advantages:
- Simple and intuitive opening.
- Adhesive label for hanging the package on any dry, clean surface.
- Instant activation: Urotonic™ Surface Technology reduces friction during catheterization, ensures comfort and reduces the risk of long-term complications.
- Presence of a specific sliding sterile handle, called “GRIP” which facilitates both the insertion and subsequent extraction of the catheter (sterile handle for the “NO-TOUCH” method).
- Atraumatic lateral drainage holes for improved comfort.
- Foldable pocket-sized package for discretion.
- The packaging allows for disposal with maximum discretion.
- PVC FREE: POBE, a polyolefin-based elastomer, has a low environmental impact throughout its entire life cycle.
- DEHP free: no risk of loss of plasticizers.
- LATEX free: no risk of allergic reaction to latex.
Warnings
The LoFric Origo catheter is intended for single use. Once used, the unique surface coating deteriorates and the catheter is no longer sterile. Risks associated with reuse may include increased adhesion, pain, bleeding, urinary tract infections, and long-term stenosis and epididymitis.
