What is it and what is it for?
Connettivina Plus impregnated gauze contains two active ingredients: hyaluronic acid sodium salt and silver sulfadiazine, and belongs to a class of medicines defined as healing and disinfectant.

Hyaluronic acid is a substance naturally produced by our bodies. Localized administration of hyaluronic acid facilitates the healing process of wounds.
Silver sulfadiazine is an active ingredient belonging to the sulfonamide antibiotic family. It is able to block bacterial replication mechanisms and thus counteract the formation of infections.

Connettivina Plus impregnated gauze is indicated for the local treatment of wounds in the initial stage (before the skin breaks) and for the treatment of mild burns (1st and 2nd degree burns).


What you need to know before taking the medicine
Do not use Connettivina Plus:
if you are allergic to the active substance or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6).


Warnings and precautions
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using Connettivina Plus if:
- have had a hypersensitivity reaction (allergic reaction) after taking sulphonamides;
- have serious liver problems (liver failure);
- has severe kidney problems (renal failure);
-if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.


Possible side effects
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

After applying CONNETTIVINA PLUS gauze, local reactions (pain, burning, itching), even of an allergic nature, may occur.

Following the application of Connettivina Plus on large areas of skin, you may experience the side effects that are usually observed with the intake of sulphonamide-based medicines (a class of drugs to which sulfadiazine belongs) by mouth or injection (systemic routes) such as:
- severe kidney problems (renal failure);
- inflammation of the liver as a reaction to certain substances to which one is exposed (toxic hepatitis);
- reduction in the number of white blood cells (agranulocytosis and leukopenia) and platelets (thrombocytopenia) circulating in the blood.
