Toothpaste based on 0.20% chlorhexidine.
It is a gentle gel on the gums, an anti-plaque adjuvant, which ensures complete oral hygiene by inhibiting the growth of plaque-forming bacteria.
Plaque is made up of millions of bacteria that cause food debris to ferment, producing acids that attack tooth enamel and cause tooth decay.
An unwanted consequence of the formation of bacterial plaque is gingivitis, characterized by redness and bleeding of the gums.
If left untreated, gingivitis can progress to periodontitis: a receding gum line that, in extreme cases, can lead to tooth loss.
