Active ingredients
Each 1.1 ml pipette contains the active ingredients: fipronil 67.1 mg; permethrin 599.5 mg. Excipients: butylhydroxyanisole (E320) 0.22 mg; butylhydroxytoluene (E321) 0.11 mg. For the full list of excipients, see section 6.1.
Directions
In dogs, for use against flea and/or tick infestations, when repellent (anti-bite) activity against sand flies and/or mosquitoes is also required. Fleas: For the treatment and prevention of flea infestations (Ctenocephalides spp.). Fleas on dogs are killed within 24 hours of treatment. One treatment provides persistent efficacy against infestations by other adult fleas for four weeks. The product can be used as part of a treatment strategy for the control of Flea Allergy Dermatitis (FAD) when this has been previously diagnosed by a veterinarian. Ticks: Treatment of infestations by Ixodes ricinus ticks. One treatment provides persistent acaricidal efficacy against infestations by ticks (Ixodes ricinus, Dermacentor reticulatus, and Rhipicephalus sanguineus) for four weeks. If certain tick species (Dermacentor reticulatus and Rhipicephalus sanguineus) are present when the product is applied, not all are killed within 48 hours of treatment. Sandflies and Mosquitoes: One treatment provides repellent (anti-biting) activity against sandflies (Phlebotomus perniciosus) and mosquitoes (Culex pipiens, Aedes aegypti) for four weeks.
Dosage
Spot-on use. Dosage: The minimum recommended dose is 6.7 mg fipronil/kg body weight and 60 mg permethrin/kg body weight. Dog weight: 1.5-4 kg. Fipronil: 26.8 mg; permethrin: 240 mg. Dog weight: 4-10 kg. Fipronil: 67 mg; permethrin: 600 mg. Dog weight: 10-20 kg. Fipronil: 134 mg; permethrin: 1200 mg. Dog weight: 20-40 kg. Fipronil: 268 mg; permethrin: 2400 mg. Dog weight: 40-60 kg. Fipronil: 402 mg; permethrin: 3600 mg. For dogs >60 kg, a combination of pipettes should be used. Method of administration: Remove the pipette from the blister. Hold the pipette upright. Shake the narrow end of the pipette to ensure the contents are within the main body of the pipette. Break the seal at the top of the spot-on pipette along the marked line. Part the animal's fur until the skin is visible. Place the tip of the pipette directly against the exposed skin and squeeze gently several times to empty the contents into two to four different spots, depending on the animal's body weight, on the back. For dogs weighing less than 20 kg, the product should be applied to two spots, while for dogs weighing more than 20 kg, apply the product to two to four spots. Drop-saving system. Treatment schedule: The product should be used after confirmation of flea and/or tick infestation or risk of infestation, or when repellent (anti-feeding) action against sandflies and/or mosquitoes is also necessary. Depending on the degree of ectoparasitic infestation, the responsible veterinarian may recommend repeating the treatment. The interval between 2 treatments should not be less than 4 weeks. Conservation
Store below 30 degrees C. Store in the original packaging to protect from light. Shelf life of the veterinary medicinal product as packaged for sale: 2 years. Shelf life after first opening the immediate packaging: use immediately.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
Laboratory studies with fipronil and permethrin have not shown any teratogenic or embryotoxic effects. Studies have not been conducted with the product in pregnant or lactating dogs. Use during pregnancy and lactation only after a risk/benefit assessment by a veterinarian.
