INOFOLIC Luteal

Food supplement based on myo-inositol, melatonin, vitamin D and folic acid useful for providing an additional amount of these substances, in case of reduced dietary intake or increased need.
The primary biological role of myo-inositol is to mediate the signaling of important hormones, including FSH (follicle-stimulating hormone), which is essential for the initial phase of the ovulatory cycle, known as the "follicular" phase. Scientific studies have shown that follicles containing high concentrations of myo-inositol support proper oocyte maturation and subsequently generate high-quality embryos.
Melatonin is produced primarily by the pineal gland. After age 35, nocturnal melatonin levels decline significantly, resulting in a reduction in the amount available to individual tissues, such as the ovaries. This decline is also correlated with a decline in fertility. In fact, melatonin is essential for oocyte growth because it supports the luteal phase, a period that begins around day 14 of the ovulatory cycle and is dominated by LH, the luteinizing hormone. High concentrations of melatonin are present in follicles containing mature oocytes. Furthermore, several studies have highlighted how sleep disturbances linked to melatonin deficiency can cause subfertility.
Vitamin D plays a key role in human reproduction by supporting the luteal phase of the ovulatory cycle, implantation processes, and the physiological development of the fetus.
Folic acid is a water-soluble B vitamin. It is involved in the synthesis of DNA, RNA, and proteins, in the process of cell division, and in chromosome repair. It contributes to the normal growth of maternal tissue during pregnancy, and a deficiency can lead to an increase in intrafollicular homocysteine, resulting in reduced oocyte quality. Furthermore, scientific studies have shown that a reduced folic acid intake is often associated with fetal growth defects and neural tube defects. Folic acid supplementation increases maternal folate status.
