Description
This device was developed to noninvasively measure systolic and diastolic blood pressure and heart rate in adults. It is designed for simple and convenient home use. The device is not suitable for use on newborns. Always consult your doctor before using the device to measure blood pressure on a child, pregnant woman, or a woman with pre-eclampsia. The device is not intended for use during patient transport outside of a healthcare facility.
MEASUREMENT TECHNIQUE
This device measures blood pressure and heart rate using the oscillometric method. The cuff is connected to the main unit and wrapped around the arm. Sensors inside the cuff detect the small oscillations in pressure exerted against it as the arteries in the arm expand and contract with each heartbeat. The electronic system then measures the amplitude of each pressure wave, converts it into millimeters of mercury, and displays the value digitally on the large LCD display.
MEASUREMENT DURING INFLATION (INFLATING Technology).
INFLATING is the latest technology that ensures direct measurement of blood pressure values ​​only during cuff inflation, thus ensuring greater comfort thanks to the reduced constriction force applied to the arm and its shorter application time. With this technology, the measurement procedure consists of three distinct phases. In the first phase, the device rapidly inflates the cuff to a preset value ideal for securing the cuff to the limb and starting the second phase. The second phase begins when the device reduces the cuff inflation speed to allow for accurate heart rate detection. The third and final phase is the actual measurement of blood pressure values ​​and begins when the heart symbol begins to flash on the screen and ends when the device automatically deflates the cuff and displays the measurement result on the screen.
WHO CLASSIFICATION OF BLOOD PRESSURE VALUES
The measured blood pressure values ​​are classified as indicated in the table in the instruction manual (WHO guidelines). When systolic and diastolic pressures fall into different categories, the higher class applies. For specific information about your blood pressure, we recommend consulting your doctor. You should not draw personal conclusions based solely on the information provided by this device.
BODY MOVEMENT SYMBOL
Blood pressure readings taken while the body is moving or speaking are not accurate, as they can be affected by these conditions. When the device detects body movement, it analyzes the pulse wave and displays the corresponding symbol, indicating that the measurement result may be incorrect (the symbol appears on the screen at the end of the measurement along with the measured values). In this case, it is recommended to disregard the displayed data and repeat the measurement after about 10 minutes.
ARRHYTHMIA SYMBOL
Pulse rate may fluctuate while talking or moving, or if you have cardiac arrhythmia. When the difference between the shortest and longest pulse wave intervals exceeds 25%, the device displays the corresponding symbol, indicating arrhythmia.
MEMORY FUNCTION
Measured values ​​are automatically saved to the memory channel so they can be reviewed later. The device can store up to 60 readings. When the maximum memory capacity is reached, the device automatically deletes the oldest reading and records the newly taken one. When the clock is running, the saved readings can be recalled along with the date and time the measurement was taken. *To save the date and time, you must activate the clock before starting the measurement. The device does not save results that have given rise to an error ([Err]).
CARE AND MAINTENANCE
It is recommended to always keep the device clean and check its cleanliness after each use. Make sure the monitor is not dirty before use. To clean the main unit, simply wipe it with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use benzine, thinner, or other strong solvents for cleaning. The cuff can be cleaned by gently wiping its surface with a cloth soaked in detergent suitable for synthetic fabrics, and then let it air dry completely. Always avoid allowing fluids of any kind to enter the cuff's air connector and therefore the tubing. If this occurs, detach the tubing and connector and air dry them completely. The cuff should not be rubbed vigorously or washed in a washing machine. During storage, do not place heavy, hot, or sharp objects on top of the device or its accessories. Never bend the cuff excessively or twist the cuff tubing so that it bends at an angle. To detach the cuff from the main unit, do not pull on the cuff or tubing; instead, grasp the air connector and gently pull it out. Do not attempt to stretch or twist the cuff, and do not allow it to come into contact with sharp objects. Do not replace parts, disassemble, or modify the device to avoid malfunction or danger to users. Discontinue use immediately and contact the retailer or manufacturer if you notice any visible damage to the device. If the device has been stored at temperatures below freezing, keep it in a warm place for at least 1 hour before using it. If you intend to store the device for an extended period of time, remove the batteries. Keep batteries out of reach of children. To prevent potential problems from poor maintenance, impacts, and improper use, we recommend checking the blood pressure monitor every 2 years. This operation may only be performed by the manufacturer or by companies authorized by the manufacturer.
