Descriptive sheet Myrialen
gel
Description
Sterile ophthalmic gel containing 5% dexpanthenol, useful for maintaining hydration and protecting the corneal epithelium. Dexpanthenol is a derivative of pantothenic acid (vitamin B5), a member of the B vitamin complex, and is an essential component of a normally functioning epithelium. Dexpanthenol's properties allow the gel to bind water, forming a lubricating and hydrating film on the ocular surface, which prolongs the mean tear breakup time in patients with dry eye syndrome and other conditions implicated in dry eye.
The formulation contains carbomers, high molecular weight synthetic polymers, which help simulate the normal viscosity of tears.
Helps maintain hydration and protection of the ocular surface.
It plays a role in protecting the ocular surface in patients with tear film disorders, providing rapid relief. It provides long-lasting relief from eye irritation, burning, and foreign body sensation caused by environmental factors such as wind, sun, dry air, salt water, smoke, bright light, air conditioning, heating, prolonged computer use, eye surgery, conjunctivitis, or contact lens wear.
