OZOVIT POWDER 100 G PASCOE

Description
A medical device containing magnesium peroxide (at least 25% _MgO2 ) as its active ingredient, which releases oxygen in the gastrointestinal tract. This oxygen release is accompanied by a significant reduction in intestinal bacteria, which are present in high numbers in acute and chronic intestinal diseases (dysbiosis).
Ozovit MP is therefore used in cases of gastrointestinal disorders caused by abnormal fermentation and putrefaction. Ozovit MP has been shown to be effective as a preliminary disinfectant of the intestinal tract in cases of dysbiosis. In intestinal mycoses, specific antifungal treatment should precede the use of Ozovit MP, as its activity against fungi and protozoa has been shown to be cytostatic.
Ozovit is a saline laxative with osmotic action. Because magnesium peroxide is difficult to absorb, it causes fluid retention and an increase in intestinal water volume. The intestinal contents become bulkier, resulting in increased peristalsis.
Ozovit MP is indicated in episodes of occasional constipation and as a bowel movement aid before diagnostic tests or particular therapeutic treatments.

Composition
100 g contains: 100 g of magnesium peroxide.

How to use
Adults: 1 to 3 scoops of powder in water or fruit juice, 2 times a day 1 hour after meals.
If diarrhea occurs, reduce the dosage or discontinue treatment for 2-3 days. Then resume administration at a lower dosage.

Warnings
Ozovit MP should not be used for more than a week.
Do not take if you have kidney failure or intestinal obstruction (ileus). Do not take if you have a known hypersensitivity to magnesium peroxide. Do not administer to children and adolescents. In rare cases, side effects may occur, including severe diarrhea with intestinal cramps and electrolyte loss. These can be avoided by reducing the dosage.
Interactions with other medicinal products: in general, to avoid compromising absorption, an interval of 1-2 hours must be respected between the administration of Ozovit MP and the following substances: iron, tetracyclines, sodium fluoride, isoniazid, chlorpromazine and digoxin.
As with other laxatives, prolonged use of Ozovit MP can cause loss of water, potassium, and other salts, resulting in cardiac dysfunction and myasthenia gravis. For this reason, administration should be limited to one week.
