Descriptive sheet PediaPEG
dust
Description
A medical device with laxative action that, through osmotic action, naturally regulates the bowel. It is neither absorbed nor fermented in the intestine, does not irritate the mucosa, and is eliminated unchanged in the stool. PediaPEG® is particularly indicated for chronic constipation and occasionally irregular bowel movements. Thanks to its affinity for water, PediaPEG® softens stool, facilitating evacuation without causing cramps, abdominal pain, or urgency. Its effectiveness does not diminish over time.

Each sachet of PediaPEG contains 6.563 g of Macrogol 3350.
Excipients: silicon dioxide, flavouring, sodium saccharin.

Warnings
Keep out of reach of children. The oral solution must be prepared at the time of use. Do not use the device on children under two years of age. Do not exceed the recommended dose: an overdose may cause unexpected side effects. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, take PediaPEG only after consulting your doctor.
During treatment with PediaPEG, it is advisable to follow a suitable diet, accompanied by the administration of an oral rehydration solution (ORS) to avoid dehydration. However, it is advisable to consult your doctor. Do not use PediaPEG for more than 30 consecutive days. If symptoms persist, consult your doctor. Do not use if you are intolerant to the product. Do not use if you are known to be hypersensitive to the components or to polyethylene glycol.
Each sachet is for single use only and should be opened only before use.
Do not take PediaPEG® if you have: intestinal stenosis, intestinal perforation, or inflammatory bowel disease (e.g., Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis). Do not take if you have intestinal obstruction. There is no experience with its use during pregnancy and breastfeeding, so take PediaPEG® only if clearly needed and on medical advice. Dosage adjustments are not necessary in patients with kidney problems. Treatment with PediaPEG® should not exceed two weeks. Repeat the treatment if necessary. Prolonged use may be necessary for refractory and/or chronic constipation. This constipation may be caused by painkillers (opioids) and medications used to treat Parkinson's disease (anticholinergics), or may occur in conditions such as multiple sclerosis or Parkinson's disease, which can cause refractory constipation.
