Description
The Natura baseplate with Durahesive and a bellows flange allows you to insert your fingers between the skin barrier and the flange to attach it to the pouch. It must be used with Natura, Natura +, Sur-Fit Natura, and Combihesive Natura pouches of the same size.
The Natura convex plate is a plate with a convexity, created specifically to manage inverted stomas.
It consists of a central trilaminar adhesive disc composed of: a top and bottom layer in Durahesive Technology and a middle layer of polyethylene film, surrounded by a non-woven adhesive backing. The backing ring is surrounded by a flexible microporous adhesive plaster entirely coated with a thin layer of hydrocolloid in contact with the skin. A circular flange equipped with a bellows mechanism and an interlocking track is attached to the adhesive. This structure allows for a completely atraumatic and secure attachment and an airtight seal. This ensures that the pouch will not accidentally detach from the plate while also ensuring a seal against any infiltration of odors or waste.

The plates have the following dimensions:
-External dimensions 11.2 X 11.2 cm; flange 45 mm; cuttable hole 13-22 mm.
-External dimensions 11.2 X 11.2 cm; flange 57 mm; cuttable hole 13-35 mm.
-External dimensions 13.4 X 13.4 cm; flange 70 mm; cuttable hole 13-48 mm.
Bellows structure composed of:
-pink plastic flange;
- Bellows made of a transparent plastic film (EVA Ethylene-vinyl-acetate) that can be stretched (accordion mechanism) up to 1cm.
Each plate is individually packaged in a shaped blister pack.
When the Durahesive adhesive comes into contact with waste, it swells, absorbing moisture and forming a distinctive collar (a "turtle neck") around the stoma, protecting it from waste and extending the device's in-situ time. The special convex insert creates a mechanical action that allows the stoma to extend, facilitating waste discharge directly into the pouch. The peristomal skin is thus protected from waste and from risky skin irritation. The bellows structure, which allows for easy finger insertion to attach the plate and pouch, is completely atraumatic. This advantage makes it easier to position for the healthcare provider during the hospital stay, for the caregiver, or for the patient themselves once they return home. The thin, microporous, hydrocolloid patch makes the barrier flexible and particularly suitable for abdominal contours with folds or skin imperfections, ensuring maximum comfort and freedom of movement. Finally, the presence of hydrocolloidal powders guarantees adhesion in humid environments, therefore the barrier maintains its adhesion to the skin even during bathing or showering.

How to use
Skin preparation:
-Before applying the device, hands and peristomal skin must be clean, dry and free of oily substances.
Plate preparation:
-Select the size of the plate whose opening, once cut, leaves a protective hydrocolloid edge around the stoma.
-Reproduce the exact shape of the stoma on the protective paper placed on the back of the plate.
-Cut the plaque just beyond the traced shape. Do not cut beyond the outermost circle.
- Smooth the edges of the cut hole with your finger. At this stage, the protective paper must not be removed from the barrier.
Plaque application:
-Remove the protective paper from the back of the barrier.
-Center the opening hole on the stoma.
-Make the plate adhere to the skin by pressing gently for 30 seconds.
-Remove the remaining protective paper from the patch.
-Smooth the barrier in situ and remove any wrinkles.
-Use until comfortable and safe. Usage time may vary.
Applying the bag:
-Bring a small amount of air into it, stretching it slightly.
-Hold the bellows flange with three fingers of both hands.
-Align the bellows flange with the bag flange.
-Starting from the bottom, apply light pressure around the entire circumference of the flange until it fits correctly.
-Pull the bag to make sure it is attached correctly.
Closing the bag:
-Open-bottom bag: Roll up the bottom of the bag, starting with the release tabs, until the Velcro strips overlap. Press them together along the entire length and squeeze until they feel securely closed.
Emptying the bag:
- Open-bottom bag: to empty the bag, unhook the bottom and open by pressing the two ends with your fingers.
During activities such as bathing or swimming, cover the filter with the appropriate adhesive label, etc. Remove the adhesive label at the end of the activity.

Components
Total skin barrier composed of inert and non-irritating hydrocolloid substances: gelatin, pectin, sodium carboxymethylcellulose, polyisobutylene.

Warnings
Extreme caution should be exercised when using adhesive products around a non-protruding urostomy, especially when associated with megaureters and in the absence of a urinary reservoir. In some rare cases, adhesive substances have been found in the renal collecting system of these patients. If a mass is detected in the urinary tract, consider continuing to use the adhesive product and initiate appropriate clinical treatment.
The device is single-use and cannot be reused. Reusing it could cause infection or cross-contamination. The device may not be as effective if reused.
After use, this product may pose a potential biohazard. Handle and dispose of this product in accordance with accepted medical practices and all applicable local laws and regulations. If a serious incident occurs during or as a result of using this device, report the issue to the manufacturer and the appropriate national authority.
Before using a convex skin barrier, a healthcare professional should assess the need for it.
The adhesive patch may cause skin irritation. If irritation occurs, cut the patch and remove it from the barrier.
Protect the stoma from trauma or impact.
