Prontosan

CE Class III medical slide, wound cleansing solution with polyhexanide and betaine for cleansing and decontaminating wounds with coating. Penetrates and dissolves biofilm.
A ready-to-use solution with polyhexanide and betaine cleanses and moistens acute and chronic wounds as well as grade 1 and 2 burns. It dissolves fibrin layers while protecting tissue, disrupts biofilms, prevents biofilm reformation, and detaches dressing residues. Ideal for wound bed preparation, it does not interfere with granulation and epithelialization and is highly tolerable for cells and tissues. Suitable for repeated and long-term use. Painless application.

Components
0.1% polyhexanide; 0.1% betaine; 99.8% purified water; glycerol, hydroxyethylcellulose.

Contraindications
- Known or suspected allergies.
- do not use in the CNS and meningeal region, in the middle and inner ear and in the eyes.
- use on hyaline cartilage and in aseptic joint surgery.
- do not mix with other soaps, ointments, oils, enzymes, etc. for wound cleansing.

How to use
Use for irrigation directly from the bottle, or for the wet-dry phase.
- Warm to body temperature (e.g. in a bottle warmer).
- For the wet-dry phase, apply the generously moistened gauze compress on and over the edges of the wound.
- Compatible with major commercially available wound dressings (exception: worms).
- Also suitable for infected wounds.
- Recommended use in VAC Instill Therapy.

Shelf life: 8 weeks after opening.
