What is it and what is it for?
Seki is a medicine that acts as a cough suppressant.

Seki is used to calm the urge to cough.

Talk to your doctor if you do not feel better or if you feel worse after a short time of treatment.
Contact your doctor if your child does not feel better or feels worse after 7 days.


What you need to know before taking the medicine
Do not use Seki:
- if you are allergic to cloperastine or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6);
- in children under 2 years of age.


Warnings and precautions
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Seki.
Caution is advised in use if you suffer from intraocular hypertension, prostatic hypertrophy or bladder obstruction.

Extreme caution is recommended if you suffer from a chronic productive cough (with mucus) such as that associated with smoking, pulmonary emphysema or asthma, because by calming the cough Seki can alter the ability to eliminate mucus (expectoration) and increase the resistance of the airways.


Possible side effects
Hives was the most frequently reported side effect.

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

Uncommon (may affect up to 1 in 100 people):
- drowsiness;
- dry mouth.

Frequency not known (frequency cannot be estimated from the available data):
- severe, rapidly occurring allergic reactions (anaphylactic/anaphylactoid reaction);
- hives;
- skin redness (erythema).

Following the instructions in the package leaflet reduces the risk of side effects.
