What is it and what is it used for?
This medicine contains simethicone, an active ingredient that works by eliminating gas that forms in the stomach or intestines (flatulence).
Simethicone IBI Children is used to promote the elimination of gases that form in the gastrointestinal tract (antimeteorism) and is also used to eliminate swallowed air (aerophagia) in infants and children.
Talk to your doctor if your child does not feel better or if he or she feels worse after 7 days of treatment.
What you need to know before taking the medicine
Do not take Simethicone IBI Children
- if you are allergic to simethicone or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6).
Warnings and precautions
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Simethicone IBI Bambini.
If you do not notice any improvement in symptoms after at least 7 days of treatment, consult your doctor. If symptoms persist or worsen, or if you experience prolonged constipation, consult your doctor. Do not use if you suspect intestinal perforation or ileus.
Children and adolescents
Simethicone IBI is used in children and infants.
Possible side effects
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Tell your doctor if, while using Simethicone IBI Children, you notice the following side effects with a very rare frequency (< 1/10,000)
• Vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, ileus, nausea
• Skin rashes
• Swelling of the face, eyes, lips, tongue, throat with difficulty breathing (angioedema).
