Salicylic acid
What is it and what is it for?
TRANS-VER-SAL is a skin patch containing salicylic acid. Salicylic acid belongs to a group of medications that work by removing the outermost layers of the skin, thus accelerating its natural renewal.
TRANS-VER-SAL is indicated for the treatment of :
• common warts (skin growths caused by a viral infection, characterised by the same colour as the skin and a typical rough surface);
• calluses and corns (widespread thickening and hardening of the surface layer of the skin, accompanied or not by pain due to compression or friction).
What you need to know before taking the medicine
Do not use TRANS-VER-SAL
• if you are allergic to salicylic acid or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6);
• if you suffer from diabetes (a disease characterised by an increase in blood glucose);
• if you suffer from circulatory insufficiency (inability of the heart and circulation to respond to the body's demands);
• on the face, anogenital area and mucous membranes;
• on moles, seborrheic warts and condylomas.
Warnings and precautions
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using TRANS-VER-SAL.
- Avoid application on healthy skin surrounding the affected area;
- Do not use on irritated, infected or red skin;
- Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes.
Do not use TRANS-VER-SAL for prolonged treatments. If you do not achieve significant results after a short period of treatment, consult your doctor.
Do not use TRANS-VER-SAL to prevent the formation of warts.
Treatment with TRANS-VER-SAL, especially if prolonged, can cause allergic reactions . If you experience this side effect, stop treatment and inform your doctor immediately who will determine the most appropriate therapy for you (see section 4).

Possible side effects
Like all medicines, TRANS-VER-SAL can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Treatment with TRANS-VER-SAL, especially if prolonged, can cause allergic reactions . If you experience this side effect, stop treatment and inform your doctor immediately , who will determine the most appropriate therapy for you.
