What is it and what is it for?
Vagisil cream contains the active ingredient lidocaine, which acts locally as an anesthetic and against itching.
Vagisil is a topical cream used to relieve itching and irritation in the vaginal area and around the anus.

What you need to know before taking the medicine
Do not use Vagisil
- if you are allergic to lidocaine, other local anaesthetics or any of the other ingredients of this medicine;
- in pediatric age;
- during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Warnings and precautions
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using Vagisil.
The effectiveness and safety of lidocaine depend on proper dosing. Therefore, it is important to use the right amount of the medicine to achieve the desired effect.
Take this medicine with caution:
- If he is elderly;
- If the patient is seriously ill;
- If you have lesions on the mucous membranes;
- If you suspect a fungal infection (i.e. caused by fungi).
Be careful when using Vagisil as this medicine should only be used when absolutely necessary and under direct medical supervision.
Patients allergic to certain types of anesthetics (such as procaine, tetracaine, benzocaine, etc.) may also be allergic to lidocaine. If you are allergic to any anesthetics, do not use Vagisil and consult your doctor or pharmacist.
The use, especially if prolonged, of products to be applied locally may give rise to sensitization phenomena; in this case it is necessary to interrupt the treatment and, if necessary, begin an appropriate therapy.
Children
Vagisil should not be used in children.
Possible side effects
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Only incorrect use of the medicine can cause unwanted systemic effects. You may experience allergic reactions, albeit in rare cases.
Following the instructions in the package leaflet reduces the risk of side effects, which are generally temporary. However, if they occur, it is advisable to consult your doctor or pharmacist.
