Directions
Treatment and prevention of flea infestation (Ctenocephalides felis) in cats. A single treatment prevents flea infestation for one month. It also prevents flea multiplication by inhibiting the appearance of fleas in the cat's environment for three months. The veterinary medicinal product can be used as part of a treatment strategy for the control of flea allergy dermatitis (FAD) in cats.

Dosage
The minimum recommended dose is 42.3 mg dinotefuran/kg body weight and 4.23 mg pyriproxyfen/kg body weight. The treatment dose range is 42.3 to 705 mg dinotefuran/kg body weight (bw) and 4.23 to 70.5 mg pyriproxyfen/kg body weight (bw) for cats weighing 0.6 kg to 10 kg. Care should be taken to apply the veterinary medicinal product only to intact skin. Treatment schedule: Following a single application, the veterinary medicinal product will prevent flea infestation for one month and also prevents flea multiplication by inhibiting the appearance of fleas in the cat's environment for 3 months. The need to re-treat cats likely to be re-infested and the interval between such treatments should be determined on an individual basis.

Conservation
This veterinary medicinal product does not require any special storage conditions. Use immediately after first opening.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding
The safety of the veterinary medicinal product in adult cats has not been established during pregnancy and lactation. Use of the veterinary medicinal product in pregnant and lactating cats should therefore be based on a risk/benefit assessment. Laboratory studies with each of the components, dinotefuran or pyriproxyfen, in rats and rabbits have not revealed maternotoxic, teratogenic, or fetotoxic effects. In rats, dinotefuran has been shown to cross the blood-mammary barrier and be excreted in milk.
