What is it and what is it used for?
XAMAMINA MAL DI VIAGGIO contains the active ingredient dimenhydrinate which belongs to the category of antiemetic (against vomiting) and antinausea medicines.
XAMAMINA TRAVEL SICKNESS is used for seasickness, airsickness, car sickness and train sickness.
Contact your doctor if you notice no improvement or if you notice worsening of symptoms after a short period of treatment.
What you need to know before taking the medicine
Do not take XAMAMINA
- if you are allergic to dimenhydrinate, to other antihistamines or to any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6).
- in case of pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Xamamina is contraindicated in children under 2 years of age.
Warnings and precautions
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking XAMAMINA.
If you are taking ototoxic drugs (which cause damage to the ear) you should take this medicine with caution as it may mask the symptoms of ear toxicity.
If you suffer from narrow-angle glaucoma (increased pressure within the eye), prostatic hypertrophy (enlargement of the prostate), urinary retention (difficulty urinating), slowing of intestinal transit (constipation), bronchial asthma, epilepsy, porphyria (a rare hereditary disease), you should take this medicine with caution.
Children
Do not use in children under 2 years of age.
Possible side effects
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Sedation, drowsiness, dry mouth, sensitivity to light, visual disturbances, impaired urination, headache, anorexia, nausea, and allergic skin reactions may occur when using antihistamines.
Less commonly, dizziness, feeling of weakness, insomnia (especially in children), euphoria, tremors, convulsions (especially in children), decreased blood pressure, increased heart rate.
